Letter, 1776 January 24.

Letter to the members of the Tryon County Committee of Safety requesting them to allow Colonel Henry Fry to remain safely in his home until further orders were received from Continental Congress. The request was granted after a pledge by John Cuyler, Henry Glen, Christopher Yates, Harmanus Van Slyck and Harmanus Wendel to insure Fry's behavior. Written at Albany, N.Y.

Philip John Schuyler (November 20 [O.S. November 9] 1733 – November 18, 1804) was an American general in the Revolutionary War and a United States Senator from New York. He is usually known as Philip Schuyler, while his son is usually known as Philip J. Schuyler. Born in Albany, Province of New York, into the prosperous Schuyler family, Schuyler fought in the French and Indian War.
